Dank der ungewöhnlichen Hitze während der unzähligen Straßenauftritte im bunten und internationalen Berliner Sommer zwischen Improvisationen, Jam und den Liedern ist es jetzt zur Reife gelangt. Die Basisinstrumente mit denen Silvio Talamo seine musikalische Sprache aufgebaut hat sind Stimme, Gitarre, Beat-Box und Loop-Maschine.Obwohl er als One-Man-Band auftritt, scheint man durch die fußgesteuerten Effekte vor einer Bühne voller Musiker zu stehen. Auf diese Weise hat Silvio eine riesige Bandbreite an weiteren Noten, Andeutungen und Harmonien einfließen lassen, die dann die aufwändigen Arrangements der Lieder auf dem Album ergeben. Alle Stücke wurden im Studio aufgenommen; neben Gitarre, Gesangsspur und Solos ergänzt durch Schlagzeug, Effekte, akustischen Drum-Groove und Elektronik. Entstanden sind Atmosphären mit mediterranem Flair, Weltmusiktrends in Verbindung mit dem Beat der Groovebox, Acappella-Reggae-Dub-Songs und New-Folk-Kompositionen, die aus einem einzigen Loop entstehen und seine sehr persönliche Mischung ausmachen. Eine gelungene Synthese aus Vergangenheit und Zukunft, bei der man das Potenzial moderner Musikinstrumente erlebt, ohne den Klang der “Wurzeln” zu vergessen und bei der die Maschinen benutzt werden, aber Menschliches entsteht: ein Werk im akustischen Zeitalter auf dem Weg zum Elektro-Folk. Silvio Talamo ist ein Liedermacher und Schriftsteller aus Neapel, der in Berlin lebt, wo er zwischen Bars, Clubs, Diskotheken und Festivals seine umfangreiche künstlerische Tätigkeit ausübt. Er hat für RAI, ZDF und ARD Fernsehproduktionen als Autor und Sänger gearbeitet. Nach seinem in italienischer Sprache veröffentlichten Gedichtband, der von Promosaik auch ins Deutsche übersetzt wurde, stellt dieses Werk seine zweite Episode seit seinem Umzug nach Deutschland dar. Voice, guitar, beatboxing and a loop machine are the instruments that form the basis around which Silvio Talamo has constructed his musical style, casting himself as a one man band in which, thanks to his effects pedals, the listener is as if transported before a stage chock full of musicians. In this way, Silvio has brought to fruition an extensive collection of notes, ideas, and chord progressions that together shape these musical arrangements. Recorded in the studio, in addition to the tracks’ vocal lines, rhythm guitar, and solo sections, were the acoustic and electric drum grooves, percussions, and effects. Atmospheres tinged with a Mediterranean vibe, World Music rhythms combined with groovebox beats, new-folk compositions obtained using a single loop, and a cappella reggae-dub form the distinct flavor of the album. A synthesis between past and future in which we can take in the possibilities of modern day instruments without forgetting our “roots” and in which we can integrate machines while staying human: an acoustic work tending towards electro-folk. Silvio Talamo is a musician, singer-songwriter, and author from Naples, currently living in Berlin where he creates and regularly performs his work in bar, club and festival circuits. He has worked in television productions (RAI, ZDF, ARD) as writer and vocalist, and has published a book of poems in Italian accompanied by German translations and edited by Promosaik. This is his second EP since moving to Germany. Voce, chitarra, beat box e loop machine sono gli strumenti di base attraverso cui Silvio Talamo ha costruito il suo linguaggio musicale, proponendosi in un concerto One Man Band dove, grazie alle sue pedaliere, sembra di trovarsi di fronte a un palco zeppo di musicisti. Così Silvio ha arricchito un vasto bagaglio di appunti, spunti, giri armonici poi confluito negli arrangiamenti delle canzoni presenti nel disco. In sala sono state registrate (oltre alle chitarre, alle linee vocali e agli assoli) anche percussioni, effetti, groove di batteria acustica ed elettronica. Atmosfere dal sapore mediterraneo, andamenti da World Music uniti al beat della groove box, canti a cappella reggae-dub e composizioni new-folk ottenute partendo da un solo loop: questo è l’impasto del disco. Una sintesi riuscita tra passato e futuro, dove si guarda alle potenzialità degli strumenti moderni senza dimenticare il suono delle “radici”, e dove si usano le macchine restando umani: un lavoro acustico teso all’electro-folk. Silvio Talamo è un musicista, cantautore e scrittore napoletano; vive a Berlino, dove è impegnato in una fitta attività artistica tra bar, club, discoteche e festival. Ha lavorato in produzioni televisive RAI-ZDF-ARD come autore e vocalist; ha pubblicato un libro di poesie in italiano tradotto anche in tedesco a cura di Promosaik. Questo è il suo secondo EP dal trasferimento in Germania.
